Who We Serve
We serve all children with active and open cases in the dependency system. This includes children in foster care, guardianship, kinship, Marin kids living out of the county, out of county kids living in Marin, and Non-Minor Dependents. These families can visit the Community Resource Center (CRC) and pick up items, AT NO COST, for the children in their care. Social workers can also shop or request items from the CRC for children with active cases who are in family preservation and family maintenance.
Families who adopt or establish guardianship continue to receive ALL services and funding for 12 months following the finalization date. After that first year, ongoing support includes:

-
CRC Shopping Visits: Once per month (additional visits available upon request)
-
Seasonal Support: Back to school items/shoes and holidays or shopping days
-
FITT Counseling: Available at $50 per session
-
Annual Funding: $1,000 per child each year through the Opportunity Project (OP) or Summer Fun program
-
Vehicle Fund: Youth may use up to $2,000 toward a car purchase (available until age 18 and high school graduation - or 19 if not yet graduated unless they enter ILP)
If you have any questions about who we serve, please email info@marinfostercare.org. Thank you!

We feel so supported by the MFCA …
through educational opportunities, the CRC and the opportunity fund, we were able to get our foster daughter’s hair done for their 13th Birthday. It was great confidence boost to her. Thank you!

Adopting two girls, sisters, has been the most challenging, yet the most beautiful experience of our lives. MFCA made our lives by providing training weekends for foster parents, support groups, and fun events for families. The training weekends and the training teachers and therapists educated us to become fost-adopt parents. The spring picnic and holiday parties make our girls so happy and its helpful to connect to other families.

Thank you MFCA for all that you do for so many children here in Marin Country. You all make real differences in lives of children and youth needing love, acceptance, and open arms.
