Building Self-Worth & Emotional Resilience in Foster, Adoptive, and Kinship Youth - Part 1

Youth impacted by trauma often struggle with self-worth, emotional regulation, and feeling safe in relationships. This interactive training will help caregivers understand how trauma influences behavior while providing practical, strengths-based tools to build confidence, resilience, emotional awareness, and healthy connection. This is Part 1 of 2 - the second session will be held in September, date TBD.
Facilitator: Michelle G. Whiteside, Founder & Executive Director of Thrive Alliance Community Center. Michelle is a Certified Recovery & Leadership Coach, youth educator, and passionate advocate for personal and community transformation.
Connection Over Correction: Emotional Regulation, Healthy Boundaries & Lasting Relationships - Part 2
Tuesday, October 6th, 8 pm
Via Zoom
This follow-up training is designed as a standalone session while naturally building on the concepts introduced in the first workshop. Caregivers will gain practical tools to help youth regulate emotions, strengthen communication, establish healthy boundaries, reduce conflict, and build trusting, resilient relationships. Families who attend both sessions will gain a deeper understanding and additional strategies, while those attending only one will still leave with valuable, actionable tools.
